その名の通りピンポン玉のような体型をしており、鱗の1枚1枚に半円真珠をはめ込んだような白く堅い膨らみがあることから「パール」と呼ばれています。

As its name, Ping-Pong Pearl, suggests, the body is shaped like a ping-pong ball, and it is called “Pearl” since each scale have a hard white bulge as if a semicircular pearl had been inlaid into it.
