The Otohime Shrimp is well known as a cleaner shrimp that feeds on the oral cavity of large saltwater fish and on parasites that attach themselves to their body surfaces. Its name comes from their bright body color and the way their antennae and legs are spread out, which makes them look like Otohime, the princess of the Dragon Palace from the Japanese fairy tale “Urashima Taro.”
