オスのお腹には育児嚢（いくじのう）と呼ばれる袋があり、メスはこの袋の中に卵を産み落とします。オスは受け取った卵を育児嚢で保護し、ふ化させます。

The male Spotted Seahorse has a pouch on its abdomen called a brood pouch, and the female drops her eggs into this pouch. The male protects the eggs in its brood pouch and carries them until they hatch.
